Dear Friend:

You might think that since we’re winding down at Alison at Blue Bell things would be calm. Not the case. With the upcoming renovation of Alison at Blue Bell and imminent opening of the Ft. Washington restaurant, the energy level is off the charts. Not to mention the abundance of summer produce. There’s a lot going on.
As you may have heard, Alison at Blue Bell is about to be totally renovated. We’re replacing the carpeting, painting and restructuring the tiny kitchen. And, you’ll be happy to hear that we’re updating the restaurant's electrical system so that it can accept credit cards and online reservations through Open Table. We expect the renovation to take about 3 months and Alison at Blue Bell will be closed during that time.
About the same time Alison at Blue Bell closes for renovations, we’ll be opening Alison two, just 4 miles away at 424 S. Bethlehem Pike in Ft. Washington. And, when you get to the new restaurant, you’ll be greeted by lots of familiar faces – the whole staff is moving there during the renovation. We are all working hard to make sure the transition is seamless.
We go to Maple Acres Farm every day to pick up fresh produce for Alison at Blue Bell. We don’t want to miss a single day of the summer harvest season. The beautiful produce coming into season inspires our daily menus. We’re serving Anthony’s Baked Mini Eggplant Parmesan Spinach Tomato Garlic Cream appetizer; Lobster and Summer Vegetable Ragu with Grilled Polenta and Lobster Sauce and Herb Marinated Quail with Bulgur Wheat Salad Grilled Peaches and Golden Raisin Vinaigrette and Amelia’s Peach Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream.
Meanwhile, the timing has been perfect for Tom, who is creating the cocktail menu for Alison two with inspiration from the local summertime fruits and herbs. He’s been mixing some awesome drinks. From reviving classic cocktails like the Corpse Reviver, Dark and Stormy, Aviations and Sidecar to creating his own twists. He’s infusing light rums with hibiscus flowers for a spin off on the traditional daiquiri and making brandied cherries to bring back the old French 75. Watch for homemade ginger beer and our own flavor-infused simple syrups.
Don’t miss the chance to enjoy the Blue Bell restaurant before the renovation. We’re finishing up construction and soon we’ll be ready to open Alison two. I can hardly wait to sit at the bar and celebrate with a drink! For updates visit our websites for Alison at Blue Bell and Alison two.
Can’t wait to see you,
Alison
